In addition to its thriving banana plantations and other agricultural operations, the province has developed successful mining, fisheries, forestry and tourism sectors, all of which are growing steadily. The provincial capital is Tagum City.
Rodolfo P. del Rosario launched an ambitious program aimed at spurring on the province’s economic growth and enhancing its investment appeal. Global leaders Dole and Del Monte operate plantations in Davao del Norte while local producers include Lapanday, TADECO and Marsman.
