Dynamic Car Rental and Travel Operation Boosting Market Share

ABC Car Rental started strong –with 150 latest-model vehicles and VIP busses-and continues to grow rapidly. Tirunesh Yesuwork, Marketing and Sales Manager, explains that ABC was launched with the long-term goal of getting involved in a wide range of activities in addition to car-rental services, including tour operations, public transport, gas station, warehousing, cargo transport, general import and export.

Shekh Mohamed Al Amoudi was instrumental in helping ABC start and expand to get to its present level.

For the moment, ABC is focusing on its car-rental services and achieving impressive success. “We offer the latest cars with luxury, speed as well as economy models. We have a car that fits the needs of almost every customer,” Mrs. Yesuwork says.

ABC opened the first car-rental services at Bole International Airport in an ideal location for welcoming arriving passengers. ABC also has an office near Harmony Hotel. ABC has been seeing a rapid rise in customer numbers, particularly over the past six months, and may soon expand its fleet.

Tour operation launched

To get its planned tourism business off the ground, ABC has acquired National Tour Operation, a well known local player. “We are currently bringing National Tour Operation up to our high standards and extending its reach to all the important tourism attractions as well as recruiting tour-operations,” Mrs. Yesuwork explains She adds, “With a few additional cars for our tour operations and car-rental services, we believe we can double our market share in car-rental services and strategically position ourselves for takeoff in the tour-operations sector.”

ABC welcomes the chance to form partnerships for its very promising ventures. The company also aims to significantly enhance its presence in Asian markets. Mrs. Yesuwork concludes, “We want to put Ethiopia back on the map as a tourist and business destination by showcasing our strong brand.”
