Manila North Harbour Port, Inc. – The Gateway of the Philippine Archipelago
The Manila North Harbour Port Inc. (MNHPI) is the operator of the Manila North Harbor, the main domestic port of the Philippines and key hub between the various islands of the archipelago. It is a subsidiary of Global Port 900, a publically listed company in the Philippine Stock Exchange.
The port has seen drastic changes over the last few years, running parallel to the growth of the Filipino economy. Indeed, MNHPI is in full swing in realizing the vision of developing Manila North Harbor into a premiere maritime hub, investing heavily in the modernization and development of its facilities. The construction of a world-class passenger terminal complex and acquisition of modern equipment ensure the company’s continued ability to provide superior passenger and cargo-handling services, serving as a swift and efficient link between ports docks and inland destinations. With the introduction of state-of-the-art technology, MNHPI offers an efficient and accurate exchange of data, optimizing logistics and boosting customer satisfaction, something new to domestic port operations.
“We are modernizing the Manila North Harbor and building a modern passenger terminal, among others, ” states Mikee Romero, Chairman of both MNHPI and of Global Port 900. “It will be the very first modern passenger terminal in the country. The passenger terminal will be the most advanced port passenger facility, with emphasis on safety, security and convenience of the riding public. As a company, we are watching how the economy progress and we are excited how the government is moving forward”, adds Romero, noting that increased port volume and transaction are reflective of the country’s growth.
The Philippines of today stands at the peak of tremendous potential, and the Manila North Harbor continues to be the bridge between that potential and the investors looking for opportunity. Under President Aquino’s administration, MNHPI has seen the promise of opportunity transform the economy and the international image of the Philippines.
As Romero says, “The Philippines is an investment hub that has a lot of promise. We continue to encourage both foreigners and investors to come and look at the Philippines. Our company fully supports the government and we hope to be an active participant in the country’s progress.”
