Established by the late Dr. Victor R. Potenciano in 1967, VRP Medical Center, formerly known as Polymedic, is now headed by the founder’s daughter, Victoria Vergel De Dios, the company’s President. Being an experienced hospital administrator, she guides the company within the renowned umbrella group of medical centers, Mount Grace Hospitals. This private, tertiary hospital, which is also a teaching facility, has developed from a single ten level structure with 100-bed capacity to 187 beds, while a separate edifice houses the Physicians Center.
As the first hospital in Metro Manila to obtain an ISO-9001 Certificate for International Quality Standards, it has pursued an integrated quality management system to include environmental management, occupational health and safety management systems.
VRP Medical Center’s partnership with the Health Maintenance Organizations has led to better health services that are appropriate, accurate, affordable and humane to their patients. The company is dedicated to respond to their patients needs by providing the highest quality of healthcare services without the pricey bills usually served by other hospitals.
Known as “the hospital that cares”, it is devoted to a permanent process of revitalization and reinvention of its structure and services. Fueled by the motto: “growing, expanding and advancing”, each employee is inspired to live up to its founder’s true ideals: cooperation and team work, accountability, respect, integrity, nurturing and good governance.
As highlighted by Victoria Vergel De Dios, the series of transformations that are planned “will add value, efficiency, and stability to its ongoing endeavors of excellence in the realm of patient care”. Permanently refreshing the look and functionality of the hospital, it will soon be enlarged with an additional tower for their Step Down Care Facility. The level of care, knowledge and excellence provided, guarantee that the VRP Medical Center will strengthen its leadership position in the humane mission to which they are devoted.
